SWAMI GOVINDANANDA
New Zealand born Swami Govindananda is the first Western Swami of one of India’s greatest Spiritual Masters, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Maharaj, the 5th Master of Masters in the past 2,500 years.

Since 1982, when he met his Spiritual Master in India, he has been studying and practising meditation and philosophy at the deepest levels. After living in the Ashram for many years, his Spiritual Master asked him to return to the West and teach the profound truths of the Indian Saints and Sages. A singularly rare distinction for a Westerner. Following the wishes of his Master, he has since devoted his life to spiritual education in the West.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Swami Govindananda has established the Bhakti Meditation Centre, a non-profit, charitable organisation with branches in Melbourne, Adelaide and Auckland, New Zealand. Dedicated to sharing Shri Maharaj Ji's message of pure Divine Love, the rarest of spiritual attainment, Swami Govindananda gives inspiration and spiritual guidance to everyday people in Australia, New Zealand and throughout the world.
